PowerBox is a distributed, modular automation system for intelligent management of on-board electrical equipment.

It replaces the traditional electrical panels containing relays, breakers, fuses and PLCs for automation, consolidating and simplifying the electrical system. It allows a high level of comfort, reduction of energy requirements and reduction of installation times for the system, while maintaining the reliability levels associated with a manual system.

The system’s most important characteristics are the level of safety and reliability guaranteed by the automatic detection of every possible electrical fault combined with electro-magnetic redundancy for each application: even in the presence of an extreme fault on any system component, it is possible to perform manual activation/deactivation via a bypass switch.

Information on the status of each device, each level, temperature, pressure and supplied current is converted to digital signals and transmitted on the dual CAN connecting every module to then be displayed on the screens and recorded and managed, as appropriate. The dual CAN BUS which Peter Instruments uses as redundant technology ensures high levels of functionality and operational reliability.
